Matt Robertson, Owner
Matt spent his early professional career refining his knowledge of horticulture, residential landscape design and construction management. Shortly thereafter, he accepted a position as a Land Planner in a small civil engineering firm. During his six years there, he established a strong background in the principles that guide decisions in the land development process. Having forged close relationships with many of his clients, and proven the value of thoughtful design in the engineering process, he was poised to accept a position working full-time for his largest customer, OakCrest Builders. Working as the Director of Estimating and Purchasing there, he gained valuable experience prior to being named President of their land development company. In 2005, he founded The Stratford Companies, Inc. in an effort to combine all of the best lessons, passions and ideas of his previous 20 years. Matt can truly say that every aspect of his prior experience built up to and prepared him for leading The Stratford Companies. Because of those events, he could create a new kind of company, well-versed in all aspects of both design and construction. Today, Matt greets each new job as an opportunity to learn something new, and collaborate with like-minded people in the pursuit of the implementation of beautiful design.
